311 km along the Moselle - from Metz to Koblenz

The cycling tracks in this region are some of the most popular in Germany, providing the right route for every taste – whether it be for short or long cycling excursions, for sporting activities or relaxation holidays, for families, groups or solo travellers. The well developed tracks on railway lines or roads head past the twists and turns of the Moselle and its tributaries, as well as vineyards, forests and the romantic villages in the region. There’s always something to discover and explore here – virtually without any inclines. From relaxing natural experiences to unforgettable cultural highlights, every cyclist will find something to enjoy.

The 311-km Mosel-Radweg from Metz in France to Koblenz is probably the most famous of the cycling tracks. The few major inclines make this sealed road particularly suitable for families. The route heads through Trier, Bernkastel-Kues and Zeltingen, and past Kinheim, Kröv and Reil, enabling riders to do all kinds of daytrips, e.g. to the medieval town centre of Bernkastel-Kues, the Porta Nigra in Trier, or the many wineries in the winegrowing towns.
The Maare-Mosel-Radweg from Daun to Bernkastel-Kues, and the trail through the Alftal Valley from Kinheim, Kröv or Reil towards the Moselle and Alftal Valley, are other popular options.

A wide range of dining options are available along all the routes. With their typical Moselle hospitality, the establishments cater perfectly to cyclists’ needs. For example, many guesthouses provide bike parking facilities or information material on other routes. Bike-friendly guesthouses can be distinguished by the Bett+Bike logo. E-bike riders can also charge up multiple e-bikes for free at the charging station while they go for a stroll or dine at one of Kröv’s restaurants on Robert-Schuman Straße by the town hall.

Certain route sections can similarly be covered by bus; bike-friendly buses are available for this.
