Welcome

to the Mittelmosel-Kondelwald wine and holiday region "in the heart of the Moselle Valley".

Wine, forests, romance, experiences, relaxation, activities and unforgettable impressions in the heart of the Central Moselle region.

The Moselle river weaves its way through a charming, vine-covered valley, marking the south-eastern border of the former "Cröver Reich",
the present-day "Mittelmosel-Kondelwald wine and holiday region".

The well known Central Moselle winegrowing area is the home of the world famous, highly regarded Riesling wine.

Visitors should be sure to taste the wines grown at the notable vineyards in the towns of Kinheim, Kröv, Kövenig and Reil.

In the foreland of the ancient South Eifel lies the "Kondelwald", with its vast woodlands and wide range of fauna.

One guest described our holiday region as follows:

"When God created the Moselle Valley, He was in a good mood!"

And God blessed the Moselle locals with these same high spirits!

Many hotels, guesthouses, pensions/B&Bs, and many private rooms and holiday apartments, with a total of approx.
5,500 beds in all categories provide accommodation to suit all tastes.

Guests looking for tranquillity and contemplation have the option of staying at the Springiersbach Monastery.

The Kröv - Mont Royal holiday village offers modern holiday bungalows, while camping grounds in Kröv and caravan parks in Kinheim and Reil have also been set up and await your visit.

Further holiday facilities make for great variety, such as the leisure complex with heated open-air pool, the "white-water slide" (76 m), tennis courts, bike hire, canoe hire, cellar tours with wine tastings, wine trails, forest trails, Kneipp treatment facilities, alpine huts with BBQ areas, horse-riding, fishing on the Moselle or at fish ponds, pleasure flights in sport aircraft or gliders departing from the Mont Royal sport airfield, and a large climbing park with high-ropes course.

Daytrips to the near by surrounds can be taken in modern tour buses or as a cruise down the Moselle, or you can hike on well signposted trails or the Moselsteig.

Cycle on well marked tracks along the Moselle and Alftal Valley, or mountain bike through forests and vineyards.

Entertainment is provided almost all year round, through folklore evenings, wine and street festivals, cellar open days, young wine presentations, and village fun fairs. (Request events calendar).

Art enthusiasts will enjoy archaeological excavations, famous churches, buildings, half-timbered houses, wineries, monuments, and a number of different museums.

The annual "International Midnight Run" (Whit Saturday) in Kröv, the "Happy Mosel" cyclists’ day (Sunday after Pentecost), and the "Motocross race" held on the "Heißer Stein" in Reil are some of the main sporting highlights.
